the stock shaft doesn't allow for anything bigger than just over 54mm or you lose the seat for the bearings and would rely on the throttle plate keeping the shaft in place. This would certainly not be ideal as the plate would rub on the TB bore causing sticking throttles and aluminum bits being scraped away, not good. To properly utilize anything bigger than 54mm on our cars requires an entirely different (larger) existing or machined TB. To take full advantage of 2.5" IC piping would require roughly 63.5mm TBs (equals the ID if 2.5" piping) and 65mm would account for the space consumed by the throttle plate and shaft when turned 90* in the bore. This would require a slight taper in the coupling from 2.5" piping to 2.75" for the OD of the TB inlet. Rob
